Fairy Tales

Fairy Tales of a child's mind
With adulthood to be left behind
Now with no comforting hand to hold
When all becomes dark and cold
Why and when do the dreams of youth fade
Allowing nightmares more real to invade
Dreams like fragile figurines fallen shattered
Dreams like dried flowers on the wind scattered
Can dreams of a child's mind be caught?
Can hope be taught?
Can laughter be bought?
A way to do so is sought
A path long forgotten and left behind
Are secrets locked in a child's mind
Dreams need to be kept alive
On this our many hopes do thrive
Dreams are a hopeful pathway
Dreams are laughter's say
Fairy Tales are dream's stories told
Happy endings, ladies fair and knights bold
Where all is possible and true
Where you can see all you can possibly do
Fairy Tales of a child's mind
Do not leave behind

Dream's End

The dream is gone
Was it really so wrong?
The fantasy fades
The darkness has stayed
Was any of it real?
Or just how I feel?
Could it have always just been a fantasy?
A beautifully woven tapestry
Who pulled that crucial thread?
Who added the nightmarish dread?
When did the morning arrive?
When did the reality come alive?
The sparkle is gone
The dream didn't last very long
It is the end of Summer
Now comes the cold of Winter
Time to just walk away
Nothing left anyway
Wanting to remain a friend
But will we only be bitter enemies in the end?
Now is the time to just let go of what we had
It all only makes me sad
Nothing left to save
It is all as cold as a grave
It is the death of a dream
Up and away like steam
Enemy or friend
It is dream's end

Something I wrote years and years ago...The ambiguous feelings we go through when a relationship ends. Ultimately, we became friends.

Very new to this

Hello (always start with hello, well mostly always)

Don't even know where to start. Don't really expect anyone to read this...so I guess it is mostly for me. Just became a grandma for the second time. Little girl. It amazes me. First, just the miracle of life and how it goes on. Secondly, that my children are now parents. Amazes me how much I love these new little people and how I care for their well being. Even before they arrived. I was pregnant with my last baby when my daughter was pregnant with my first grandson. Now, I have a grand daughter. She is NICU. She was born 2 weeks late and became stressed and swallowed miconum. So, now I worry. I worried before she was born. Funny how that works, not enough to worry about your own children now you worry about your grandchildren. So life goes on...
